Be part of shaping national energy policy by supporting the Arizona Corporation Commission’s efforts to rein in solar subsidies by reforming net metering policies.
All Arizonians are paying for the few who can afford the up front costs of solar panel installation—not just through the taxpayer-funded state and federal subsidies, but through their increasing utility rates that are unfairly punishing those who can least afford it.
The Arizona Corporation Commission is currently considering revising the generous credit offered to customers with rooftop solar. Many other states are looking at policy adjustments as well. Because of Arizona’s prominence in the solar arena, Arizonians have the unique opportunity to influence national policy as the battle plays out over the next few months. Buy signing this petition, you tell the Arizona Corporation Commission that you’ve got their back, that you support their efforts.
The issue is bigger than just Arizona. President Obama has injected himself into Arizona’s controversial solar power incentive program because he needs to save face. If the reverse-Robinhood policies are modified, the subsidized purchase and installation of solar panels will slow. It is in Obama’s best interest to keep these policies, that can only exist with government incentives and mandates, in place—but it is not in Arizona’s best interest, nor America’s. These policies generate wealth for Obama friends and political/ideological power for him while unfairly punishing those who can least afford it.
Take action! Sign the petition now and ask your friends to do it too! Tell the Arizona Corporation Commission that you support its efforts to rein in solar subsidies by reforming net metering policies.
