Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, has unveiled the 2011 State Flexibility Act, S.868 that will repeal ObamaCare’s oppressive Medicaid Maintenance of Effort (MOE) requirements that force states to increase taxes on their residents or make drastic cuts to state services in order to cover the more than 20 million patients that will be added to Medicaid under ObamaCare.
ObamaCare’s Medicaid MOE requirements limit states’ ability to investigate Medicaid fraud and abuse, and does not allow states to manage their enrollment to meet the needs of their residents and keep their budgets balanced.
Conservative Action Alerts supports Sen. Hatch's efforts to limit ObamaCare by introducing S 868 to repeal Medicaid Maintenance of Effort regulations, and give states more control over the program.
The House's HR 1683 is S 868's companion bill.
