112 HR 3035 IH: Mobile Informational Call Act of 2011
Introduced September 22, 2011
This bill would modify the Communications Act of 1934 to allow robo-calls to cellphones. The Communications Act was passed in the New Deal era and created the Federal Communications Commission.
This bill merely modifies the code and doesn't eliminate the Federal Communications Commission; what this bill does do is allow businesses a bit more freedom to run their own. While robo-calls may not be exciting for consumers, the government shouldn't have authority to limit the market. Business should be left free.
Unfortunatley this bill removes very little bureacratic red-tape.
